Music

Music is honestly one of the most amazing things ever. I have an insane amount of music in my iTunes and I regret none of it.

Okay to start this off, my life practically revolves around music It is a constant in my life and i don't think I would be able to function without it. It is crazy how music affects me so much and the emotions it makes me feel. I can go from being a happy lil' marshmallow to the saddest raincloud in record time all by music.

I feel like many people think that they have the most amazing music taste and often ridicule people who don't like the same music as them. Most likely not every one is going to have the same music taste as you so you should just leave everyone alone.

Some people also judge others for listening to a certain band like One Direction. I personally like One Direction (buy Made In the AM on iTunes) and I cannot tell you the amount of times I have been judged for it. There was a time when I did feel like I couldn't listen to them without being hated on. I have learned to not care because I like their music way too much to care about anyones stupid opinion.

I think it is amazing how people can associate songs with different feelings personal to them. A song can have so many meanings to so many people and that is pretty kool. I personally, have playlists with songs that remind me of a certain time of the year. If you want to listen to my "Fall" playlist click here (it's lit).

Me jammin my vv good playlist

Music is such a universal language. Whether someone speaks Japanese or English they could both have the same music taste. The amount of people who listen to the same music but don't speak the same language but they are brought together by music is astounding.

I have such an appreciation for music and I hope that you reading this can identify with this. Now imma go jam. Ta ta 4 now

Millennials (Rant Wednesday)

I want to know how my generation is considered as lazy and rebellious. If you don't know we are called "the millennial's." Wikipedia says that we were born between 1980 and the early 2000s.

We are the generation that grew up during the major advancement of technology. Our child hood was still played outside with our neighbors but slowly this new thing slowly entered our lives and eventually took it over.

For some absurd reason, the progression of technology was seen as a bad thing to many people in the older generations. They always tell us that we are attached to screens, that we never put down our phones, or that all we do is sit on the tech and we are not really "experiencing" life. Newsflash, we have experienced more life through our phones than you ever have.

The amount we have at the touch of our fingers is amazing. I can make a friend on a different continent, someone who I wouldn't be able to talk to if it wasn't for technology. I could actually talk to someone who grew up in a different background and has different out look on life through the internet and a smartphone. That is more than anyone in the past had been able to do.

The picture millions of people posted on Friday to support Paris
We also have to ability to start something amazing with the power of social media. Take the terror attack on Paris on Friday. Millions of people were tweeting, posting to Instagram, and posting to snapchat their love and support to the city. The people really got to interact with the people in Paris and the world got together and sent them their condolences to the Parisians. This wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for this "brain rotting" technology.

Not only have we been ridiculed for actually using technology but we have been put down countless times for not caring about other peoples opinions and not caring. I can't count the amount of times I have been told to "dress to impress" by my family members. Who am I trying to impress? I am a 15 year old girl. I'm pretty sure I can wear sweat pants to school and my hair in a messy bun every once in a while.

We are also starting to realize that we do not treat women or people of color or any one who is not a white straight white cisgender male. Many people are still not paid equally, treated equally, or shown any respect at all and our generation is becoming sick of putting up with their shit. We are becoming a group of more accepting human beings and thats pretty gr8 if you ask me.

I can't wait until we are all old. Millennials will be the most rad grandparents ever. Ta ta 4 now!

I Have a Slight Problem

I am not very good with words. Which is ironic because I am currently taking honors english. I feel as though I have these amazing ideas and they could actually be put to good use but I just cannot for the life of me make them sound like a poetic and inspiring master piece. I mean how hard could it be to turn 26 letters of the alphabet into something good.

It makes it really hard to write essays. On our last essay one of the topics was depression and suicide. I saw many of my peers writing these amazing and moving essays. They flowed well and god was I jealous. Mine was just kind of like the sea on a windy day, a choppy mess.

This a pretty good representation of how my essay went

I don't quite know why it is so hard for me to formulate these ideas in to words. As I'm writing this I have deleted and rewritten so many sentences but they just never come out like I want them to. I find it difficult to have conversations about school because they usually go something like this:
Me: "So what did you say for number 7?"
Other Student: "I said the Mitochondria is *imagine a really long and beautiful description of what the mitochondria is or look at the definition here*. What about you?"
Me: "Uhhhhmmm. I said its the powerhouse of the cell"

I pray that one day I will wake up and I will be able to write an amazing piece of literature that will make someone, out there, feel something other than very uncomfortable. Oh whale ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe I should practice more. Everyone says practice makes perfect. The only problem is that I am extremely lazy and I have a feeling that I will never practice writing. If I do I'll keep you all updated on how it goes.

If you have anything that will help me please let me known and there is a very slight possibility that I will look at it. Ta ta 4 now

School Sucks (Rant Wednesday)

I  have decided to start a Rant Wednesday to keep my ranting to a minimum. If I didn't my entire blog would just be random rants from some me and I'm sure nobody would want that. So I'm going to start doing these every Wednesday I feel like I have something to rant about (which could be a lot).

There are too many people that are stressed about grades
Todays topic is school. I hate school with a passion and I can't wait to be done with it forever. Many people hate school and I understand why so for those of you that like it let me elaborate on why I personally hate it.

First of all, you need to understand that I love learning. I like educating myself on things that I don't know much about. Some of you may ask, "Hannah, how can you love learning but hate school?" Well, my answer to that is I hate being graded on my learning. At this point school seems to be based around how well the student's memorization is and not their understanding of the topic. I'm sick of being graded on how well I can memorize equations and not why we need the equation. There are too many times where I am just memorizing and not understanding.

School is so miserable for people with parents that are really over obsessive. There have been countless times that I have wanted some accident like my leg breaking or literally anything else so I don't have to go home and face my parents as they lecture me on my "bad" grades. It's also very annoying when someone who thinks that they got a bad grade on an assignment and then another person who got a worse grade says stop complaining like stfu, you don't know the kind of pressure some people are under and how crazy their parents are.

I just want to say that there is so much wrong with the education system and that means there will probably be more than one post on this topic. Let's just say I am very much a believer that the education has moved away from what it was originally created for in the first place. Imma just leave you with this and I hope that you can see where I'm coming from.

High School Volleyball is Over :(

I am sad to say that high school volleyball has come to a close. It was definitely one of the best seasons of my life. I had the most amazing time an d i met so many new and amazing people over the season. I also had the chance to get to know some of the girls that I have known for a long time so much better.

My favorite memory is the bus rides. We had some deep conversations on those hour plus bus rides. My favorite time was when we went all the way out to Union high school and we had to stop in Duchesne for lunch. Some of the other girls and I thought it would be a good idea to walk 3/4 miles to try and make it to the Subway at the beginning of the town. We were told to be back on the bus by 2:10 and we had left at 1:45. We ended up running the 1 1/2 miles there and back only to be stopped by our coach who told us that we weren't leaving until 2:30.

We had the most amazing bus rides and it was some of the best bonding times we had as teammates.
Grace fell asleep an Kinley decided to
snuggle up
I learned so much from this season and I have gotten some of the best advice from the older girls. The best advice I got was after one of the bus rides there were a few of the seniors and maybe three of us freshmen. We were sitting on the benches outside of the high school while we were waiting for our parents. I can't remember exactly how the topic got brought up but Carleigh, one of the seniors, said, "Don't waste your high school years on people who don't aren't worth your effort. I spent too long on boys and friends and it wasn't worth it." That really opened my eyes on some of my friends that I was wasting my time trying to impress and I am so happy that have cut them out of my life.

I also loved having team dinners. They were after practice and the entire program would go out into the cafeteria and eat food that some of the parents had brought in. We would all go and get plates with mountains of food piled on. We had so much fun playing the cup game and just talking.

I am so happy that I got to play volleyball with the people I did this year and I can't wait until next year when I'm not a freshman. I can't wait until the next season but until then I'll be playing club so stay tuned for stories from that.

Hello Friends

So since this is my first post I'm just going to tell you the basic stuff a friend should know about me since you, whoever you might be, are my friend. First of all I am doing this for a grade so don't be too surprised if I stop this blog after May, but who knows maybe I will grow to like and continue it. Secondly, I am 14 (a wee freshman) and my birthday is October 30th. My star sign is a scorpio (just so you can check mine when you see those horoscope posts on Instagram or Tumblr) and I like fall candles way too much.

My friend Emma and I at the Halsey concert

I like music a lot. I like artists like 5 Seconds of Summer, Blink-182, Halsey, Melanie Martinez, etc. My favorite color is blue and I like horror films. I play volleyball for PCHS and I like to think that I am pretty okay at it. I have a dog named Kona and a 2 year old brother named Cam. I hate the winter which is ironic because I live in a ski town. I have always wanted to visit the UK and go ride the London eye. I am obsessed to rain and I'm kind of addicted to tea. I probably have more friends on the internet than I do in real life.

My extended family can get way too close for comfort sometimes but I love them anyway. I am not ashamed to admit that I am a hardcore fangirl and have gone to extreme lengths to see a new music video like staying up until 3 am when I had to catch a plane at 6 am. I could probably live in leggings, sweaters, and my solid black Converse. I might be a train wreck some of the time but thats what you get from me. I am a proud owner of a polaroid and I'm kind of obsessed with it. My records are my most prized possessions and I would probably run into a burning house to save them. I'm pretty sure this covers most of the stuff you definitely need to know about me and I hope to get to know you too as this blog goes on. I hope you will find me humorous and entertaining and if you don't then you're missing out by not following my blog.  I apologize for this post not being very funny but aren't all introductions like that.
